“HC&A will bring in an agile model that is capable of catering to an ever-changing healthcare landscape and evolving expectations”
After his long and rich experience in the healthcare field, Hisham Hout founded Hout Consulting & Advising which aims to connect the healthcare landscape globally, by enabling healthcare providers with advanced technology and enhancing healthcare systems with the strategic developments. “Hospitals” magazine had the pleasure to meet with Hisham Hout to discuss his career in the healthcare industry, his vision and mission, etc. Below is the full interview:
Can you tell us about your career in the healthcare industry?
I have been in the healthcare industry for over 35 years, catering to the global healthcare market. I’ve watched the healthcare industry vastly transform during my time, leading up to today’s digital revolution within healthcare. During my career in healthcare, I have gained global expertise, and value-driven operational leadership across the industry where I have created and developed new efficiency strategies and quality control process improvement plans, resulting in remarkable growth and business profitability across EMEA and the Indian subcontinent.
How did u come up with the idea of Hout Consulting & Advising, talk to us about your vision and mission?
After a long journey working around the globe in various capacities, I have acquired an affinity for the healthcare industry with all its components and have developed an ongoing purpose of giving back to patients’ health through healthcare systems to get the best possible offerings ranging from Med-tech manufacturers, to connecting all parties globally. With that, I have founded Hout Consulting & Advising, which aims to connect the healthcare landscape globally, by enabling healthcare providers with advanced technology and enhancing healthcare systems with strategic developments. It provides a plethora of services that best cater to healthcare excellence. Our long-term vision is to support patients and healthcare givers in sustaining better lives. We aim to be effective catalysts in spreading the best healthcare available across the globe.
In your opinion what opportunities healthcare organizations need to implement in 2023 to grow their businesses and improve the delivery of care to patients and employee well-being?
I believe that 2023 will still carry the impact of the COVID-19 aftermath from a business perspective. This means that hiring the right staff and making available the right med-tech systems will essentially be key drivers in delivering the right care to patients. Healthcare organizations must always improve the working environment of the HC givers to ensure their well-being and sustainability.
In your opinion what are the biggest challenges the industry is facing right now, especially after the Covid pandemic?
The supply chain will remain a big challenge. Moving forward, executing new hospital projects will also be prone to several challenges connected to people’s movement and materials availability. I believe we will experience a shortage in capital availability which may impact the quality of healthcare. Proper planning & forecasting should help in alleviating some of the pressures excreted by supply chain problems.
What do you think is the biggest change that has happened in the healthcare consultancy sphere the last few years and what new ideas will you bring to the table?
Healthcare consulting has evidently increased in size and in knowledge. Healthcare consultants around the globe have been very busy engaging with healthcare centers to help in improving services as well as advising on new projects. The Gulf region and KSA have attracted most if not all consulting companies for business advising, given their massive investment in healthcare and its integral incorporation with GCC country national visions. HC&A will bring in an agile model that is capable of catering to an ever-changing healthcare landscape and evolving expectations. HC&A will deliver top-quality consultancy and advisory services for clients who are looking to grow, expand & transform their businesses, organically or inorganically through acquisitions or mergers.
