Our journey has included periods of relative stability, followed by major crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the severe financial crisis, and the Beirut port explosion. In Lebanon, resilience and adaptability have become essential operational requirements rather than optional qualities. CMC’s ability to sustain its performance and strengthen its position is primarily attributed to strong leadership, a clear strategic vision, and consistent support from ownership and the Board of Directors. Equally important is our highly skilled medical and administrative team, whose expertise has been instrumental in navigating crises and transforming challenges into opportunities for growth.
Since its inception, our vision has been clear: to achieve excellence by delivering superior quality healthcare. This has been realized through continuous investment in top-tier medical talent, advanced clinical environments, state-of-the-art technologies, and an unwavering commitment to patient experience, without compromising strict medical standards. How do you address challenges related to human resources, equipment, and operational continuity?
CMC adopts a proactive approach, informed by strategic planning and efficient resource management, to ensure uninterrupted care delivery without compromising quality. The center prioritizes attracting and retaining top medical talent by providing a dynamic, supportive work environment and continuous investment in training and professional development. On the operational side, we continue to upgrade our infrastructure and technological capabilities by integrating advanced medical equipment and digital systems, enhancing efficiency while reducing reliance on traditional resources. Smart operational systems are also deployed to optimize resource allocation and ensure flexibility in response to evolving demands.

What are your strategic priorities for leading CMC into its next phase of growth and innovation?
We build on a strong institutional foundation and a clear strategic vision that enables us to move forward with confidence. Since assuming my role in March 2023, we have implemented a comprehensive restructuring process over three years to prepare the center for a new phase aligned with our long-term ambitions.
Healthcare is undergoing a fundamental transformation toward data-driven and analytics-based models. Artificial intelligence is a key driver of this shift; however, we adopt a balanced and pragmatic approach due to the sensitive nature of medical practice and its direct impact on patient safety. In the short term, we are focusing on leveraging AI for data analysis and decision support, developing precise performance indicators related to response time in care delivery, operational efficiency, gap analysis, and clinical outcomes.
In the long term, we anticipate deeper integration between advanced software and technological infrastructure, enabling the use of AI and augmented reality to enhance diagnostic accuracy, improve medical imaging interpretation, and potentially reshape aspects of clinical practice.
Artificial Intelligence: A Complementary Force in Healthcare
AI today is viewed as an advanced tool that complements physicians rather than replacing them, enhancing clinical decision-making through data-driven insights. Its role is expected to expand, improving care quality and outcomes. Financially, AI plays a crucial role in cost management, negotiation optimization, workflow efficiency, and operational streamlining, contributing to improved overall performance and reduced expenditures.
Within smart hospital environments, AI becomes a key component in achieving balance across healthcare systems through integrated digital infrastructures that support efficiency and sustainability.

The center consistently records minimal findings during evaluations, reflecting the effectiveness of its policies and operational rigor. Proactive mock surveys conducted every 24 months ensure continuous readiness, often achieving results that match or exceed official accreditation assessments. CMC is now preparing to achieve its seventh JCI accreditation, an exceptional milestone in the region.
