A Clinical Training and Education Agreement has been signed between leading healthcare facility Alfardan Medical with Northwestern Medicine (AMNM) and elite medical college Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar (WCM-Q).
The agreement will provide clinical training sites and experience of the private healthcare sector for a number of WCM-Q students each year, at an early stage in their medical education, while also advancing AMNM’s ongoing mission to promote academic and clinical excellence.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Omar Hussain Alfardan, President and CEO of Alfardan Group, and Dr. Javaid Sheikh, Dean of WCM-Q, in a ceremony held at AMNM in Lusail. Under the agreement, AMNM and WCM-Q will work together to leverage their joint expertise and state-of-the-art healthcare and training facilities to reach new levels of excellence in patient care in the State of Qatar.
AMNM is a premium healthcare facility that draws upon its unique partnership with Northwestern Medicine Chicago, one of the most highly ranked healthcare institutions in the US, to provide elite levels of care for patients in Qatar. WCM-Q, a member of Qatar Foundation and a part of the US-based Cornell University, is at the forefront of medical education and biomedical research in the Middle East.
Hailing the agreement, Mr. Omar Hussain Alfardan said: “It is with great pleasure that we announce the signing of this new Clinical Training and Education Agreement between AMNM and WCM-Q. As two leading healthcare institutions with a strong commitment to delivering the very highest standards of care to patients, we believe this agreement will bring significant benefits to all parties. Our belief is that patients deserve the very best care possible, and we know that WCM-Q shares this conviction. Working together, we will be able to make great contributions to the ongoing pursuit of excellence in healthcare for patients in Qatar and the Middle East.”
Dr. Sheikh said: “We are very pleased to sign this agreement with Alfardan Medical with Northwestern Medicine. WCM-Q is an institution with a tremendous record of providing excellence in medical education and patient care, so we are very happy that our students will have the opportunity to gain clinical experience in the world-class facilities of AMNM. We have great faith that this agreement will not only be a huge success but will also provide a tremendous boost to our mutually held goal to continually advance and improve healthcare outcomes for patients in Qatar and the wider region.”
