Liv Hospital: The Future of Healthcare
Multidisciplinary approach
The first Liv Hospital opened in 2013 and there are now eight hospitals, including two international facilities.
Altogether, the hospitals span a total area of 2,723,292 square feet, hold 1,316 beds, 64 operating rooms and 103 clinics, all of which feature a futuristic architectural design. The experienced medical staff, the successful implementation of challenging surgical procedures, highly professional patient services, hospitable approach and up-to-date technology make Liv Hospital an excellent option for patients. The hospital also holds accreditations such as “Center of Excellence” and “JCI”, to reflect its international standing.
Adapting to the needs of different cultures
Liv Hospital has welcomed patients from 182 countries, with the majority coming from 35 countries. The international marketing team speaks 25 languages between them, with each member being a citizen of the country they represent. This ensures that Liv Hospital’s guests experience a sense of familiarity, supported by individuals who understand their culture, language and homeland — despite them being far from home.
Taking care of heart health, from newborn to adult
The Heart Health Team is comprised of esteemed academics who specialize in cardiology and cardiac surgery and who all have experience in working with cardiovascular diseases. This means they can determine the most precise treatment options applicable across all age groups — ranging from newborns to adults.
Advanced Prostate Clinic for men’s health
The Advanced Prostate Clinic utilizes cutting-edge technology in various urological areas, particularly focusing on urological conditions. Techniques like multiparametric MRI and fusion biopsy help aid in diagnosing prostate issues, enabling targeted biopsies for accurate staging. Post-diagnosis, PSMA PET/CT is used for staging. In addition to robotic surgery, non-surgical methods such as nano knife, which uses an electric current, HIFU for high-frequency ultrasound energy and resume for benign prostatic growth treatment through water vapor, are employed for reduced pain and potentially quicker recovery.
Lifestyle changing health tech: stem cell laboratory with GMP-standardization
The Regenerative Medicine Stem Cell Production and Application Center at Liv Hospital, established in compliance with GMP standards, is the first of its kind in Türkiye, which is within a hospital setting. Professor Erdal Karaöz, PhD says that successful outcomes have been achieved in procedures involving stem cell treatments for primarily degenerative diseases that affect the central nervous system and the muscular system, as well as for cardiovascular system disorders and certain autoimmune disease models. The results have been published in journals as scientific articles. After achieving a 37% survival rate with stem cell treatment in patients who had tried all other treatment options during the pandemic, the ministry incorporated stem cell therapy into the Covid treatment algorithm. With the growing importance of stem cell-based cellular therapies, there’s even the possibility that in the future, various methods including genetic manipulations could be routinely utilized.
High-level service with robotic surgery and a hybrid operating room
With its robotic surgical infrastructure, Liv Hospital conducts highly intricate surgeries and also implicates robotic knee and hip prosthesis procedures. Hybrid operating rooms, which integrate traditional surgical approaches with cutting-edge technology, bring a novel dimension to health services, addressing various disease groups and trauma surgeries involving the brain, spinal cord and spine.
International fellows are being trained at Liv Spine Health Center
The Spine Clinic at Liv Hospital, which is a member of the European Spine Organization, has been successful in performing many intricate surgeries such as those that help patients with scoliosis. The clinic also functions as the Aospine Spine Surgery Center, attracting spine surgeons from various parts of the world for training.
Liv Hospital: Winners of Best European Digital Health Innovation Award in 2024
At Liv Hospital, one of the most important steps in helping to digitalize healthcare is Healthverse PanoramicWEB. With this technology, patients can explore spatially rendered environments through 360-degree cameras using VR goggles, mobile phones or computers, from anywhere they wish. Virtual reality, which includes the possibility of face-to-face meetings, can be experienced either by being accompanied by an administrator or independently. Individuals can ask real-time questions and access information and videos placed within Healthverse PanoramicWEB during their independent exploration.
