Lateral tilt as a gold standard to help

One of the best examples of how a bed designed to address in-bed patient care can bring tangible benefits to the patient, nurse, and management, is bed-framed lateral tilt. This signature attribute of the LINET brand found its role in the ICU and is now entering the acute care environment as the gold standard.

The effect of the lateral tilt of the loading surface is that through a slight rotation, recumbent patients are turned over on their side. With the bed tilted to the side, the nurse uses up to 67% less force when turning the patient than with the same operation on a normal bed. One nurse, instead of two, can handle the patient and make the bed. This allows the patient to be given full care even when the number of staff is reduced, for example on weekends or night shifts. And what real impact does it have? For a unit with 20 beds, lateral tilt can bring a net time saving of ~ 9 hours of nursing time per day, which saves 3,418 nurse working hours per year!
